Footnotes

  • Built by Aitken and Mansel, Glasgow, for Thomas and James Harrison's Charente Steamship Company and launched in 1884. She was the first ship to actually be built for their ownership. In June 1903 she went aground in Bahia Bay, Brazil. Although refloated, she had to be beached to prevent her sinking and was declared a total loss and auctioned for breaking up.
