An early 18th century ebony bracket clock with pull quarter repeat

The caddy top with applied foliate scroll mounts to four sides, surmounted by the gilt tied bud handle and bordered by four small urn finials, the glazed door with a pierced foliate mask sound fret to the upper rail and pierced foliate key escutcheons, over the moulded plinth raised on four turned gilt feet, the 6.75 inch brass dial with cherub spandrels, signed silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring and strike/not strike lever above XII, the matted centre with decorated mock pendulum and calendar apertures, ring turned winding holes and blued steel hands, the signed twin fusee movement with verge escapement, five knopped and finned pillars, pull quarter repeating on three bells and striking the hour on a fourth, the backplate engraved with profuse foliate scrolls centred on a nude male figure, over the signature cartouche. 38cm (15in)
