A late 19th century pearl and diamond necklace/tiara
The collar formed of pairs of square collets, those to the front set with old round brilliant-cut diamonds and those to the rear with a rose-cut diamond, the frontispiece fringed at one side with diamond-set scrolls terminating in a 4.30 - 5.00mm pearl and to the other side with collet set rose-cut diamonds, the rear fringed to one side with diamond-set scrolls, the frontispiece removable and previously worn as a tiara (fittings deficient), the rear formed of four detachable sections to allow variation in length, length 41cm, bearing indistinct continental marks, some small diamonds deficient to scrolls, the diamonds estimated to weigh approximately 5.90cts in total
