The majority depict cities, including Paris and Versailles (17), Florence (11), Rome (11), Venice (6), St. Petersbug (6), Madrid (2), Lisbon (2), cities in Holland (14), Malta, towns in the East Indies (6, including Bombay), cities in Germany (9), and Bethlehem in Pennsylvania. Others include "Twelve Sea Pieces" and 6 views depicting the "Manner of besieging towns". The plates which have been remounted, on similar thick paper as the remainder of the volume, have the imprint of "John Bowles". See illustration on preceding page.
