An Officer, wearing red coatee with standing collar, white and black lace and epaulettes, white frilled chemise and black stock, his powdered hair tied with a black ribbon bow.

Auction Notices

  • It has been suggested that the officer in the present lot belonged to the 41st Regiment of Foot on the grounds that of the three line infantry regiments that had red facings and silver lace, the 41st were the only regiment to have the distinctive bastion shaped lace loops with the black stitching running through the middle of the lace.
