The frame applied with ball and spire finials to each corner, over tapered pillars with silvered Roman dial to the right side and seconds dial to the left, the weight driven movement currently fitted with a dead beat escapement, but can be converted to a grasshopper escapement, also included in this lot, it fitted with automatic winding, but can be wound manually, the clock mounted on a purpose built pine stand; together with the 20 inch black painted dial with gilt numerals and lead off arbor. Movement 28cm (11in)

Footnotes

  • This clock was originally hand wound, but I later converted it to automatic winding. It is at present fitted with the deadbeat escapement but a grasshopper escapement is also available. It is offered with all the hand wound pieces and grasshopper escapement together with the movement stand and the extension carrying the dial.
