A rare bronze flaring beaker vessel, gu
Shang Dynasty
Crisply cast around the exterior, the wide flaring upper section with long cicada lappets each centred with a raised grooved vertical rib and springing from a shallow band of archaistic animals on a leiwen ground, the design continued on the central section and high spreading foot cast with taotie arranged in two masks.
