A black lacquer four-case inro
By Shibata Zeshin (1807-1891), Meiji Period
The ground partly polished and partly with an ishime texture, lacquered with Futen running through clouds, holding the neck of his huge sack of wind, in gold and coloured takamakie, the interior of rich nashiji signed Zeshin; with a stag-antler manju, applied with a gilt-metal kanamono and decorated with a complementary design of Futen over carved and pierced with clouds, unsigned; with wood storage box.
