A tachi do tosei gusoku armour
Edo Period, 18th/19th century
A sixty-two-plate sujibachi kabuto black-lacquered and fitted with a tosei mabisashi embossed with eyebrows and a deep koshimaki, to the rear a five-lame Hineno jikoro, the lower plate gilt, a maedate in the form of a pair of pincers, the associated menpo black lacquered with hair moustache (modern), Ko sode, gold lacquered shino gote, a ni mai tachi do laced overall, gold-lacquered ikada haidate and gold-lacquered shino suneate, constructed of black-lacquered iron kiritsuke kozane, the kusazuri in leather and laced throughout with dark blue kebiki odoshi, contained in a box with a stand.
