An Egyptian revival scarab necklace
Second Intermediate Period - New Kingdom, circa 1786-1070 B.C.
Composed of nine Egyptian steatite and glazed composition scarabs, engraved variously with good luck signs; an anro design; the throne name of Tuthmosis III; Amen-Re and broad collar; and two seated divine figures, each mounted as a pendant on a later gold necklace interspersed with gold palmette pendants the scarabs 10mm-15mm, the necklace 17in (43cm) long

    UK private collection. A gift from the owner's aunt who was given the necklace in the 1950s while living in Kenya.
