An early 19th century Dutch or Belgian flagon
With "shouldered" baluster drum, the flat-domed lid stamped with the initials "PVL", shell hollow-back thumbpiece and single curve handle, unidentified touchmarks to the underside of the lid, 22cms high, with a late 19th century quart straight-sided mug, the body with incised lines and engraved inscription, weighted base, touchmark inside base of Edward Cowles, Hounslow, verification mark to rim, 15cms high, and a 19th century pint Irish haystack measure, the body of typical form stamped "1 PINT", various Victorian verification marks to the collar, touchmark to the underside of Joseph Austen & Son, 15.4cms high (3).
