Arabic manuscript on paper, 4 leaves, 17 lines to the page written in clear naskhi script in black ink with heading and letters picked out in red, some repairs, waterstaining restricted to outer margins, modern boards, 220 x 155 mm.; Muhammad bin Ahmad al-Harithi al-Najrani, al-Durr al-Manthur fi ma'rifat al-juzur wa al-Kusur, Near East, dated AH 1018/AD 1609-10 or later, Arabic manuscript on paper, 14 leaves, 19 lines to the page written in a cursive script in black ink, occasional commentaries written in outer margins, edges frayed, some repairs, modern brown morocco with stamped central medallion, one stain and hole

Footnotes

  • The title of the work from which the fragment originates is probably min minhaj al-'amal bil-astrulab. An Arabic inscription on folio 1r states that it was read by Nasir al-Din al-Tusi on 9th Safar 660 at the Maraghah observatory, and copied by Mu'ayid-al-Din al-'Aradi al-Dimashqi.
