Footnotes

  • The 'Butterfly Women' design is recorded as being released on Trumpet shaped vases and a Listal bowl but not, however, on this shape vase and cover. It is also interesting to note that the vase has no 'Z' number. Una des Fontaine comments that the women used on various vessels differ in design slightly. The principal figure seen on this vase can be seen reproduced in her publication 'Wedgwood Fairyland Lustre', Sotheby Parke Bernet, 1975, pg226, showing a plate from the original Wedgwood booklet of 1921.
