A pair of William and Mary carved walnut and marquetry side chairs
The shell carved pierced toprails above rectangular caned backs with central vase shaped splats each inlaid with a classical robed figure holding a parrot aloft, above closenailed late 19th century woolwork seats, worked mainly in cross and tent stitch with cream, red and brown wools designed with birds, flowers, leaves and scrolls; on shell carved aprons and cabriole legs, leaf and scroll carved at the knee, joined by wavey and turned 'H' stretchers, on pad feet.
