  • The painting was commissioned by the Master of the South Staffordshire Hunt, Arthur Rymond, seen here on his hunter "Robert". Lionel Edwards, a keen hunter himself, stayed with the Rymonds whilst working on the commission. The huntsman, Nimrod Capel, is depicted on the left with his favourite hound "Damsel" and the kennels can be seen in the distance.
