Footnotes

  • Hardy Blechman founded London fashion label Maharishi in 1994. As the company's chief designer he is heavily influenced by military surplus and urban art and this is reflected in both clothing and art the company produce. Working with some of the leading names in the field, such as Futura 2000, Dan Macmillan and Mark Gonzales, their output bridges the gap between fashion and art with the clothes incorporating embroidered graphics and the canvasses, including the present lot, formed from stretchered Mahairishi fabrics.
