Breon O'Casey, the son of playwright Sean O'Casey, is an artist and craftsman closely associated with the St Ives School of painters and sculptors. He undertook an apprenticeship to the St Ives sculptors Denis Mitchell and Barbara Hepworth confirmed his feeling for materials and for working with his hands. During this time, he also benefited from friendships with other leading artists, such as Peter Lanyon, John Wells and Tony O'Malley.
