Persian and Arabic manuscript on paper, text written in naskhi, nasta'liq and shikasteh scripts, interlinear rules in colours and gold, marriage certificates with outer borders richly decorated with arabesques and vegetal motifs in gold and some colours, creased, small tears

Footnotes

  • The documents are as follows:

    1) An edict of promotion in a Sufi tariqa issued in the capital Isfahan to an un-named dervish. The places for names are left blank, the edict has no date and is not authorised by witnesses' notes and seal impressions, as it should be.
    2) An edict of acceptance of a dervish in the Sufi tariqa of Dervish Muhammad Ikhtiyar Isfahani in Isfahan in Rajab 1280 (December 1863-January 1864). The document is witnessed and authorised by the seals of those present.
    3) An edict of acceptance of Mirza Haydar son of Mirza Muhammad known as Khizr Khan in the Sufi tariqa of Dervish Muhammad Ikhtiyar Isfahani in Isfahan in Shawwal 1221 (December 1806-January 1807). The document is witnessed and authorised by the seals of those present.
    4) A certificate of marriage between Muhammad Javad, son of Sayyid Muhammad Hasan, and Fatima Sultan Baygum, known as Gawhar Nisa Baygum, daughter of Mirza 'Aqil, on 18 Dhi'l-hijja 1261 (18 December 1845).
    5) An illuminated certificate of marriage dated AH 1286/AD 1869-70.
