Full-page woodcut on fol 1 and woodcut printer's device on final leaf. Woodcut crible initials touched in yellow and/or red, capital strokes in yellow, a little further rubrication. Extensive period marginalia. 4to (196 x 133 mm). Period blind-stamped pigskin, brass clasps. Some dampstaining and browning, F5 with some loss to shoulder notes from paper flaw, binding soiled and pigskin starting to split, clasps fragile.
Very rare compilation for the Order of the Friars Minor, founded by St. Francis of Assisi. The Bibliotheque Nationale ascribes the authorship to Fr John Argomanez.
Provenance: two institutional inkstamps and several early ownership inscriptions to first leaf.
