Footnotes

  • In 1913, William Moorcroft established his own factory in Cobridge, breaking ties with his former employer Macintyre. In the early production period, pieces were simply signed by Moorcroft, sometimes along with a date, with no impressed factory stamp. The 'Moorcroft' stamp was soon introduced in 1914, dating such unstamped pieces, such as seen here, to a narrow window of production.
