- Studio Démon was a small arts studio located in Tehran, Iran, that produced popular works during the 1950's. The studio insisted that only the finest artists represent them, and each artist was allowed to personalize his or her work while producing the categorical images required by the studio. This made the studio unique to the constraints of mass production that focused on tourist images, and each painting, typically of very high quality, was created by only one artist. The artists that became more well-known from Studio Démon were E. Svarchian, R. Zarian, R.A Hayrapetian and S. Melkonian, the latter two whose works are included in this lot.
