1868 Pattern 5C Judd-633, Pollock 704, R.5 PR64 Deep Cameo ANACS
The obverse features a similar appearance to the regular issue three cent nickel. The date is positioned low (Pollock-704). The reverse exhibits a Roman numeral V at the center with a laurel wreath encircling it. The large V at the center of the reverse would be used some 15 years later on the newly designed Liberty or "V" nickel. Struck in nickel with a plain edge. A bold contrast between the devices and fields is seen on each side; some light golden patina is on the reverse. (PCGS 960851)
