xii, 598, [28], [2] pp. 4 folding engraved maps, of the Western Territories, the Rapids of the Ohio, Kentucky, and the Tennassee Goverment. 8vo (220 x 135 mm). Untrimmed in original boards. Custom chemise and morocco-backed slipcase. A little toning and foxing to maps, Kentucky shaved within platemarks touching headline, rubbed.

THIRD EDITION. "In its final 1797 form, embodying many original narratives and the entire works of Filson and Hutchins, this work gave the most complete information on the trans-Alleghany region available at the end of the 18th century" (Howes). Howes I12; Sabin 34358; Streeter sale 1525.
