  林風眠，生於廣東，早年到法國巴黎深造，回國後任國立藝術院院長等要職。其作品呈現出中西藝術之交融，以流暢線條配合大膽色塊，塑造出抒情的效果。《松林小屋》採用油畫技法來畫中國水墨，以多種不同暗色系的藍、黑、棕顏料，層層堆積，暗中有序，將遠山、松林、和近景石坡，加以區分，卻又連成一氣。
