probably kou wood and hand carved, most likely used for serving meats, etc.

Walter F. Dillingham (1875-1973), Papa'ena'ena, Honolulu. Dillingham was the baron of Hawaiian Industry and best known for constructing the Ala Wai Canal thus draining the wetlands of Waikiki in the 1920's.
