  • Gabriel Oni-Okpaku studied art at Stanford University in California and in 1972 returned to Nigeria where he and his wife Aino Ternstedt established 'Quintessence' in Lagos, now the Quintessence Art Gallery. His artistic career was tragically cut short when he died, aged 39, in a horse-riding accident on 12th September 1977.
