  • It can be noted that this design is influenced by a detail on The Warwick Vase. A similar example can be found in 'Wine Labels 1730-2003 A Worldwide History', edited and co-authored by John Salter, Antique Collectors' Club in association with The Wine Label Circle, 2004 edition, page 32, figure 31. However, it states that this design was first produced in 1812, two years later than the example offered here. An 1810 example with added armorial rose can be found in figure 572.
