79cm pipe-backed blade etched for most of its length on each side with scrolling foliage, stands of arms, and a crown over the Regimental badge being of a skull over crossed bones and motto 'Or Glory', 'XVII Lancers', and at the forte 'Moore, Late Bicknell & Moore, Old Bond St, London', regulation gilt mounted hilt with two-piece ivory grips, blue velvet covered wood scabbard with gilt mounts, gold lace seams (pile missing to velvet), complete with knot with crimson and gold cord and acorn.
