  • The American clipper ship Challenge was active between 1851-1876. She was Built by William H. Webb in New York and owned by N.L. and G. Griswold. The Challenge had principal dimensions 230.6ft LOA x 43.2ft beam x 26ft draft, and weighing 2,006.5 tons. The Challenge was wrecked off the French coast of the English Channel in 1876.
