Footnotes

  • Ron Falloon trained as a photographer with John French in London in 1960-1, following in the footsteps of David Bailey, Terence Donovan and Brian Duffy.

1962 saw him open his own fashion photography studio in the city's buzzing Drury Lane. Working for high-profile publications such as The Daily Mail, Tatler and Fabulous Magazine, Falloon photographed catwalk shows in Paris, as well as all the big names of Swinging London: Twiggy, Jean Shrimpton, Marianne Faithful, The Rolling Stones, Sandy Shaw and The Animals, to name a few. He gained exposure working with major fashion houses including Dior, Valentino and Mary Quant, and with the most influential Fleet Street fashion editors of the time. In 1968, he moved to Toronto, where he was a fashion and reportage photographer for About Town Publishing.

Falloon later returned to England as an agent to a host of photographers, illustrators and musicians, famously working with Karl Stoecker on early Roxy Music and Lou Reed album covers.
