The blade probably 17th century, later mounted as an aikuchi
The blade of hira-zukuri form, with rolling gunome-ha of nioi and itame-hada, carved to one side with Bishamon horimono and to the other with makimono and tama, the tanago-bara nakago with two mekugi-ana, signed Muramasa; in shirasaya; Koshirae: the saya lacquered with kiku blooms on a stream in gold togidashi; the fittings of silver carved and inlaid in iroe takazogan with Daikoku, Ebisu and Hotei with their attributes including a large fish, sacks of treasure, rats and a daikon, the kozuka signed ...Gyokusai zo, the kojiri signed Gyokusa zo.
The blade 24.1cm (9½in) long.
