Footnotes

  • Provenance: the Gwen and Ronald McKnight Melvin Collection, Simon Spero 2007, catalogue no. 19. Spero refers to an incised mark, but close examination shows this to be a Worcester workman's mark painted in a pale enamel colour, a feature only occasionally seen on coloured creamboats.
