1963 Land Rover 109" Safari
Chassis no. 25108402 B
Painted black and green, and with evidence of gun mounts in the cargo area, this Land Rover 109 is believed to have been a military vehicle. Recently exhumed from long-term storage, it has the typical Land Rover aluminum body, which is solid but inflicted with a number of small dents. The paint is generally poor, with chips, scratches and some lifting of the finish. The windshield and sliding side windows are all in good condition, but weatherstripping is loose and hanging. The green canvas top is weathered and shows its age. The interior is weathered and worn, the driver's seat back an incorrect high-back type in black vinyl. The passenger's seat appears original, and is worn and torn.
The engine compartment and chassis are rather oily and dirty. The vehicle has not run in more than five years, so the condition of the drive train is completely unknown. The odometer reads 15,009 miles, the significance of which is unknown. The vehicle is complete, however, if not completely original, and could be made useful with a general recommissioning. Alternatively, it could be an excellent restoration project for an enthusiastic owner.
