1958 Daimler One-O-Four Saloon
Chassis no. 90174
Engine no. 87758
Daimler's 3.5-liter Regency model was renamed "One-O-Four" (sometimes written 104) in October 1955, and remained in production through February 1959. Recently exhumed from long-tem storage, this Daimler One-O-Four saloon is an excellent candidate for restoration. The body is generally straight, although there are some dents and ripples in the hood. The car has been repainted in maroon, although not to the best quality. Glass is generally good, although the windshield seals have been poorly repaired.
The interior is maroon leather, somewhat dry and cracked. Some of the burl walnut trim has water damage and age cracking. There is also some staining and the headliner has come loose.
The six-cylinder engine and pre-selector gearbox with fluid flywheel are generally clean, although there is evidence of lower-end oil leaks. The car has not been started in many years, and the condition of engine and gearbox are completely unknown. The car shows but 14,212 miles; nonetheless, a complete recommissioning would be necessary to make it suitable for the road. A worthy project for the committed enthusiast, it is bound to provide much pleasure once completed.
