1954 Chevrolet Series 3100 Half-Ton Pickup
Chassis no. H54N020932
Engine no. 3335916
Chevrolet reaped a bonanza with its newly-styled Advance Design trucks in 1947, the first of the major light truck manufacturers to field a new postwar style. By 1953, however, the Advance Design was looking old-fashioned in comparison to Ford's new F100, so for '54 the Chevy was treated to a new, bolder grille and a one-piece curved windshield.
In good, solid condition, this half-ton Chevrolet pickup could be put into general use, or treated to a full or partial restoration by a new owner. The exterior blue paint, although of a later blue hue, is presentable. The truck is fitted with modern aftermarket alloy wheels, which are entirely serviceable but could easily be replaced by the correct 16-inch steel disc items. The bed has low, stake-type sideboards, which can easily be removed if desired.
The interior is in correct gray fabric and cardboard. The drivetrain is the original 235 cubic inch "Stovebolt" Chevrolet six-cylinder engine, mated to a column-shift three-speed manual transmission. Late versions of the Advance Design Chevrolet pickups are seldom seen on the show circuit. This truck represents an excellent opportunity to acquire a noteworthy vehicle.
