CH27-70Q movement adjusted to temperature, isochronism and position, seal of Geneva, 24 jewels, free sprung Gyromax balance, opaline white dial with applied gold baton numerals, subsidiary dials for 30-minute register incorporating leap year indication, continuous seconds enclosing 24-hour dial, date ring with aperture for moon phase, rectangular day and date apertures, within a polished and brushed case with concave bezel, fluted lugs, screw-down case back, case, dial, and movement signed, leather strap with signed 18K gold buckle. 37 mm diam.

    Beginning with No.875.000 the reference 3970 was made in four series between 1986 and 2004. The present lot belongs to the second series which was made between 1989 and 1996. With the launch of the third series, the reference was available, for the first time, with both the solid and sapphire crystal screw-down case backs.
