HANCOCK, JOHN.
Document Signed ("John Hancock") as President of the Continental Congress, partially printed and accomplished in manuscript, [1775], being the appointment of William Scott as captain of a company of militia "in the army of the United Colonies," lower right quadrant lacking, wear and separation at folds, some mild browning near signature and fold separation just touching "H" and through "a" in signature.
Though undated, this commission conforms to others from 1775 though at least some from 1776 employed a different printed form.
