James, on integral blank leaf of ALS of Mrs. Joshua Slocum, 2 pp recto and verso, 8vo, Wilmot, December 23, 1905, explaining to London that her Captain Slocum is in the West Indies for the winter, leaves soiled and creased. London writes to his mechanic: "This explains how I missed Slocum."
2. 2 Checks Signed ("Jack London"), partially printed and accomplished in manuscript, 2 pp, each 3 by 6 1/2 inches, San Francisco, April 27, 1911 and September 7, 1912, paid to the order of Joan London and "Mother Earth," drawn on the Merchants National Bank in the amounts of $6 and $2.10, cancellations affecting signatures on each, mild toning and thumbing overall.
Lot also includes a TLS of Charmian London dated August 15, 1922 and a carbon of a letter to Jack dated Dec 16, 1906.
