"This is an account of ... an expedition to found a French settlement in the Strait of Magellan, proposed by French buccaneers who settled there. The project failed. This account of the expedition is especially noteworthy for details of natural history subjects and for the accuracy of Froger's charts. Froger went on this voyage at the age of eighteen" (Hill).
