Fr. 162, Y-27. Obverse: Crowned double Imperial eagle with ribbons on crown; Reverse: Value, text, and date within circle. Of the 100 Proofs originally struck, most are now impaired in some way. This example shows only the slightest hint of wear and mishandling. A razor-sharp strike combines with antique-golden surfaces that appear non- reflective. We are unable to find a recent (or meaningful) auction record for the 1876 25 rouble piece. A close examination of this exceedingly rare lot is recommended.
