A British light cavalry officer's saber
circa 1800

Broad, curved 32 1/2 inch hatchet tip blade, the spine marked Richards Wood & Co. London. Brass stirrup hilt in the French taste. Leather and wire-wrapped grip. Steel two-ring scabbard.
Condition: Blade with scattered light spotting, the edge with one nick. Grip leather scuffed but sound. Scabbard with scattered small dents.
