An Imperial German hunting association cutlass
Straight 13 3/4 inch blade etched with hunting panoplies and scenes of deer and a hound and wolves. Ricasso with mark W.K. & C., the spine etched Carl Lippold Braunsweig. Gilt brass hilt with fluted shell, deer hoof finials on quillon and knucklebow and elephant ivory gripscales. Leather scabbard with brass mounts, the throat with frog stud in the form of a boar's head.
Condition: Fine blade showing minor marks. Hilt with perhaps 30% gilt finish.
