A Japanese Type 8 diplomat's court sword
Straight 25 inch blade of diamond section. Brass hilt of regulation pattern, the front shell molded with the rising son, the balance of the hilt molded with floral meander and panels of the kiri-mon. Black composition grip bound with brass wire. Black leather scabbard with floral engraved brass mounts.
Condition: Blade showing areas of light spotting. Hilt with traces of gilt finish. Scabbard leather scuffed and showing old repair above drag.
