A British Pattern 1822 heavy cavalry officer's sword for the 6th Dragoon Guards
Slightly curved 35 1/2 inch blade with etched panels featuring scrollwork and, on one side, the Royal crown and VR cipher, the reverse with crown over 6/Carabiniers. Maker's mark Louis Holbeck/4/New Bond St./London above hilt. Regulation steel half-basket hilt pierced with scrolls. Grey shagreen and copper wire-wrapped grip. Steel two-ring scabbard.
Condition: Excellent blade and hilt, the grip with minor scuffing. Scabbard with scattered shallow dents and showing spotting/light pitting overall with some heavier pitting towards drag.
