A lobster-tailed pot helmet
in mid-17th century style
The two-piece skull with narrow ribs; apex with pierced finial on star-shaped plate; front fitted with sliding nasal. Front flanged to form a broad brim, the edge rolled. Rear with one-piece neck guard worked as four lames, the edge guttered and rolled.
Condition: Showing scattered dents, minor pitting and smooth, dark surface, probably repatinated.
