Collection of 494 silver gelatin print photographs (252 11 by 14 inch prints; 246 8 by 10 inch prints), with some duplicates, images in Germany and the Pacific Theater, most with U.S. Army stamps or labels on verso, some with two holes punches at left margins, many with additional modern labels.

This collection of Army photography was assembled by Vernon Shinbane, head of the Army's Photographic Unit in Washington, DC. Present are large format images of aircraft carriers, bombers over the Pacific, GIs landing at Normandy, and other iconic battle images; views of FDR with Churchill, King Saud, King Farouk, and at draft selection; Bob Hope and members of the USO Tour; MacArthur at the signing of the Japanese Surrender, and much more.
