Album containing 62 photographs, silver gelatin prints, 3 x 4 3/4 inches to 7 3/4 x 9 3/4 inches, 1915-c.1920s, several with typewritten identification near border, some title in negative, period black cloth, generally excellent.

An album of aeronautical photographs related to the U.S. Army 15th Photo Section including aerial shots of their base at Crissy Field, Mills Field, Sacramento, Monterey Airport, the San Francisco Bay, and several shots of Army aircraft in formation; the airplanes that they used including one which shows the camera rig. The album also contains images of other Army aircraft, including an early amphibian, and of privately-owned aircraft including a 1915 photograph of pilot Art Smith and his makeshift aircraft, an early passenger aircraft owned by West Coast Air Transport which flew a route from Seattle to Portland, and on to San Francisco. The album is rounded out by images of three dirigibles, a plane crash, and pilots.
