ELLIS, HAVELOCK. 1859-1939.
Autograph Manuscript, plus Autograph Transmittal Letter Signed ("Havelock Ellis"), 46 pp total, in ink and pencil, rectos only, 4to, [London, before 1912], with frequent amendments, preserved in linen folder.
The transmittal letter reads in full: "This is, in its original form, the last chapter, in manuscript, of The Task of Social Hygiene. I preserved it when destroying the rest as it is the chapter to which I personally attach the most value." The Task of Social Hygiene is best-known among Ellis's works for its comments on eugenics.
