c.1929 Motoconfort JAP 175cc R2
Frame no. 64293
Engine no. 38882
Motoconfort was the 'sous-marque' of Motobécane during a time when they produced nearly identical machines in tandem with a maker's main offering but under another brand. The 1929 Motoconfort range included machines using the excellent British-designed engines from J.A.Prestwich of London. The R2 175cc model, a side-valve lightweight, is similar to English machines of the period with girder forks, hand-change and the recently-introduced electric lighting. With better brakes and equipment than earlier versions, the R2 was genuinely capable of voyaging through the length and breadth of France. This Motoconfort is exactly how we like to find them, complete with full equipment, ready for rebuild or 'oily rag'. There are no documents offered with this machine.
