Peru
Chrysocolla is a hydrated copper silicate, a mineral that forms in the oxidation areas of copper ore where it is associated with a number of secondary copper inclusive minerals. Due to its attractive blue-green color it is sometimes confused with turquoise. The hardness is sufficiently high to allow for a bright, mirror polish. Brilliant blue, green and black veining distinguish this decorative sphere creating a striking visual impact, diameter 3 1/2 in.
